Meet the Crew

Jenna Pothier

 Writer and Production Designer

​

Jenna is a fourth year student in the Honours Bachelor of Film & Television program at Sheridan, specializing in editing and writing. She grew up always having an interest in storytelling, from writing short stories to creating music videos and sketches for fun. Diving straight into college after high school, Jenna has gone on to use these skills to edit TV skits, films and music videos, as well as write screenplays like “Age Rewind”, which won two awards at the Sheridan Screen Arts Awards. Jenna is excited to graduate and continue further on in her film career creating more empowering and thoughtful content.

Samantha MacNeil

Producer

 

Samantha is currently in her fourth and final year at Sheridan College in the Honours Bachelor Film and Television program. Samantha has experience working on short films, Documentaries, Live television Shows, PSA's and commercials.

Samantha hopes one day to use her skills in these areas to bring her stories to life on the small screen as a Showrunner for Television. As a Showrunner, Sam wants to focus on strong and leading women in front of and behind the camera.

Halley Le Tourneau

Picture Editor, DMT, and Script Supervisor

Halley Le Tourneau is a 4th year student at Sheridan College in the Bachelor of Film and Television program. She is an aspiring screenwriter and picture editor. After she graduates in 2018, Halley hopes to write for television, specifically comedy.

Sophy Pollak

Director

​

From a young age Sophy Pollak, has been passionate about film and storytelling.  An art school graduate, she specialized in writing and acting, before realizing she wanted to expand her abilities to the art of filmmaking.  After traveling, and working on independent film projects, she attended Sheridan College’s Bachelor of film and television programs where she majored in writing and directing, honing her skills as a storyteller. After interning in New York, she is in her graduating year of he r bachelor’s program, ready to pursue her passion for filmmaking.

Chris Cavanagh

Director of Photography

Chris Cavanagh is an aspiring cinematographer as well as a drone operator. Dedicated, cooperative, and fun loving, Chris always sticks to the task and delivers the best result possible.

Daniela Pinto

Sound Recordist and Post Sound

​

Daniela was originally studying to become a lawyer. To de-stress during those dark times, she would record herself performing songs from video games on the piano using a $10 microphone and a crappy webcam, cut them together, and upload them to YouTube. Little did she know that few years later she would end up switching careers to sound editing, mixing, and composing music for film and television, and since then she has never looked back.

Abigail Chan

1st A.C.

Abigail wants to specialize in the camera department and is the 1st assistant camera for No Crying Allowed. Growing up, she has always loved watching movies and wondered what it would be like to work behind the scenes one day. Now, she wants to ultimately become a cinematographer in the field of documentary. She likes the aspect of meeting new people and learning new things, as well as experiencing life lessons and travelling that documentary filmmaking allows, which she finds fulfilling and worthwhile in the long run. Abigail is currently in her fourth year of the Bachelor of Film and Television program at Sheridan College.

Patrick Ritcey

1st A.D.

Growing up in a a few hours North of Toronto, Patrick Ritcey always had a passion for movies and t.v shows. After 4 years of Film School he has found a passion for assistant directing and is excited to be a part of the No Crying Allowed crew!

Kaden Lechner

Production Design and Gaffer

​

Kaden is a multi-skilled filmmaker from Burlington, Ontario. He is passionate about
using cinematography, writing, directing, and production design to share unique and
personal stories in film. His past experiences range from documentary and dramatic
productions, to experimental works and music videos. He is currently working
towards an Honours Bachelor of Film & Television Degree at Sheridan College.

Alysha Persaud

Location Manager and Transportation

My name is Alysha Persaud, I am currently in my final year of the Film & Television program at Sheridan College. I live in Toronto & really enjoy location scouting. It gives me the opportunity to explore outside my area of expertise

Joselyn Caron

Transmedia and Craft Services

​

Joselyn is a fourth year student at Sheridan College. Born in Brantford Ontario, acting as both Transmedia Manager and craft services for No Crying Allowed. She's ok but has no interest in pursuing either as a career.

Shane Nguyen

Assistant Editor

I am a third year student in Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Film and Television. I grew up in a small town in Southwestern Ontario where my favourite pass time was watching television shows and movies. When I entered high school I attend my first film class. After this class I fell in love with the process of film making and my mother and sisters have supported me when pursuing this passion. I have voiced great enthusiasm in becoming an editor but recently have also been engrossed in the transmedia aspect of projects.
